A wise pastor once said in a sermon, “Oh, how I wish I had the energy of youth and the experience of age”. That’s so true and applicable on so many levels.
I’m now 30 going on 31 (very soon). Somewhat old(er), but still a baby sometimes in terms of making images. But I’m encouraged sometimes when photographers talk about their own failings, and how they pull themselves up through thick or thin.
Life is too short to not try something new. There is no tomorrow, or rather, there’s no use putting things off thinking there’s always tomorrow. Do it now, and get stop watching Renovators. But most importantly, never give up. Even when I think I don’t have the ‘it’ factor, or the $20,000 setup, or the winning image at WPPI.
I took these, oh.. about 5 years ago. Back then I knew nothing about image editing, so the images never really came out like what I imagined. I was rummaging for images yesterday and found them. And saw them for what they could be. So here they are. And they’ll be different again come another 5 years.
I’m not where I am yet, but I’m still taking those steps. Not giving up.
