We took a two day road trip up towards Yarra Valley, Melbourne’s wine region and then closer towards the High Country. But time is short and unfortunately I can’t show much but my usual panoramas. Taken last Saturday, at De Bortoli Yarra Valley Estate.
Down That Little Lane
It was April last year when we took a little retreat to Mornington Peninsula, and we (or I) wanted to check out some of the antique shops near Hastings. I don’t actually remember the roads we used, but we drove past country house after country house. I remember looking out the car window while driving (yes, not quite safe, I know) and just admiring the leafy autumn when we drove past the entrance to this particular house, with the gate open.
We never intended to intrude on somebody’s privacy, but when you have this little lane this beautiful, and the gate was just plain ‘inviting’ us in, we stopped about 100 meters in front, walked backwards in the slight drizzle, stopped to admire the beauty, and then took a few shots. One of those shots made it so well that I’m happy to post it on Red Bubble as a fine art print!
Black & White
It’s my 101st post (how time flies), and I thought I’d share some of these black and whites. Again, sometimes I never know how good these are until I revisit them and think….. wow.
Melbourne Wedding – Shashi&Naobh
They first met at their workplace, and from there they fell in love. Last Friday Shashi and Naobh were married at a school chapel, interestingly enough. Both the wedding at Sacré Cœur’s chapel and the reception at The Gables was an intimate and lovely affair, where close family and friends gathered to celebrate this special occasion. Shashi and Naobh, I wish you all the best in your new life together, and may joy and happiness be in your household! More »
Melbourne Pre-Wedding – Wayne&Debra
At first glance you would have thought that I’ve now gone into pet photography. But hey, I thought it would be a clever/dodgy marketing gimmick to feature the cute little dogs rather than their owners (sorry guys, but the dogs are cute!). Anyway, Wayne and Debra are set to walk down the aisle sometime later this year back in their hometown in Singapore, and unfortunately they’re also set on leaving the best city in the world for home. But they wanted to do their pre-wedding shoot in Melbourne, and I was more than happy to capture them (and their dogs) in Melbourne light. And considering how random Melbourne weather has been, it turned out to be, as Debra’s luck would have it, a really nice day!
One Year Later–Remembering Japan
A minute’s silence for the 19,000 people.
A minute’s silence for the relatives and friends of those people.
A minute’s silence for the pain and anguish.
A minute’s silence for the journey in rebuilding.
A minute’s silence for the knowledge that there is always Hope and Love, no matter how dark the circumstance.
