Had a quick but much-needed break + scouting down at Geelong. I’ve got a wedding coming up in November, and seeing that we’ve never really explored Geelong and the Bellarine Peninsula much, we opted for it instead of our usual Daylesford retreat.
Not knowingly, a few surprises awaited us there. First up was the amount of “yellow flowers” (I call them that because I don’t know their names) – literally fields of gold on the way to Geelong. It was so much that I made a detour, down to Little River.
Some choice architecture from Geelong. Beautiful.
St Mary’s of the Angels Parish is probably the largest-sized church here in Geelong. If you walk a lot further back, you can see it sitting on top of a hill, which is very cool (panorama image below). It was closed for cleaning when we visited, but we did check out the interior 5 minutes before Sunday mass started. Probably one of the best-lit ‘traditional-style’ churches I’ve seen in a while.
Point Lonsdale. I would have loved to do a sunset or sunrise picture of this area. The pier was super-duper long!
Two choice portraits. The light and the backdrop was just brilliant, so I had to.
Of course, no travel posts from me are absolutely complete without the panoramas. I just wished I had more time for the first one. Click on them to see a larger view.
