The hills are alive….

Oprah was on TV the other night (as in on prime time TV, which is a new thing to me here in Australia. She’s also down under at the moment, but I digress) and the feature was the actors and actresses who starred in the movie “The Sound of Music”. There was also a presentation sung by the Von Trapp children, but I digress again.

Anyway, having grown up on US television, I’ve watched this movie a few times, and it still amazes me sometimes when Annie (my wife originally from Taiwan) says she has never seen it. So guess what we’re gonna do this weekend.

Coming from a Asian background and now residing in Melbourne, here’s my tips on getting along with other people.

  1. Not everybody grew up with American or Australian TV.
  2. Don’t make jokes about their country unless you know them well, or you know the country well, like Taiwan is NOT part of China.
  3. Lastly, not all of us are from China (we get this on the street with drunks quite often).

Note: Sorry about the China thing. I do like some of you guys.
